Default Can you pinch details on Ebay??

Ok, I am selling something on ebay, the picture in the advert was taken by me, the text in the advert was written by me, there was a start price and a buy it now for the item.

some cheeky ****** has blagged my picture, copied my write up, and then done a buy it now £5 cheaper than me

I have mailed him politely and he gets all snotty...I thought this sort of thing was against Ebay's T&C's.

any advice?

ta.

sign up a new account for ebay and click his "buy it now" which will end his auction. dont worry about neg feedback as you probably wont use the account again

cheers, but I dont want to go down that road, plus I don't know if you can have multiple ebay accounts.

for what its worth...

My first mail to him…

Hi,

very nice of you to use my picture and text in the ****** advert.

So now anyone looking for a ****** will see the multiple adverts and think
something is fishy, so I get to miss out on a potential sale.

Please alter your advert text and remove my picture, not after making
enimies on ebay, but your'e taking the ****.

His reply….

Excuse me do you own copyright on these articles?? I don't think so. You
are lucky Im not saying why I am selling this load of rubbish
This advert will run its course I do not take kindly to threats
BRIAN TENCH

My reply….

Mr Tench,

"Tanks" for nothing.

I wil drop a note to Ebay in the morning with regard to your trading methods.

Regards,

Mike Pike.

His reply….

OK MY FRIEND SEEING HOW YOU INSIST ON THREATS WATCH MY NEXT ADVERT

And that is how it has been left, not overly fussed, as mine got sold this morning .

What do you lot reckon he means?, is he up to something or just full of ****?

Is he linking to your pics? If he is, swap them for something obscene.

Actually if it's your photo and text, then yes - you DO own the copyright. You're right to complain to eBay.

Hi, I like the look of this but I have heard them described as a "load
of
rubbish" ....why are you selling ?? I just missed out on a better
looking
one so might have to make do with going for yours.

Cheers

Him:

"Get bidding then!!!!!"

Will have to wind him up a bit more I think.

You do of course hold copyright to the picture, ask him to remove it. He'll refuse and that is your gambit to eBay - unathorised use of copyrighted picture.

Seems awfully suspicious that he would have the same item in the same condition as yours was at the same time, does he actually have one of these is what springs to mind, has he changed any of the wording at all?

Post another advert up for the same thing with the same picture and include his:

Excuse me do you own copyright on these articles?? I don't think so. You
are lucky Im not saying why I am selling this load of rubbish
This advert will run its course I do not take kindly to threats
BRIAN TENCH
in the advert, together with a link to his sale.

Job done.

Unlucky I've had to deal with a loon recently too. How some people can get so petty is beyond me.

we should keep an eye on his auctions bid on ridiculous price ie £300 for something that's worth £100 so nobody else bids, then pull out with minutes to spare. so he still pays for the listing fee

oh yeah read this feedback on page 8 (its a positive feedback)

MONEY TAKEN,EMAILS IGNORED,ITEM NEVER SENT - AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! Buyer masonicblue
