Default Car Finance/HP

Can you have 2 lots in one name? I know it normally acts seperately to loans etc and you are more likely to be given HP.

I'm no expert but I guess if you have a good credit rating and can afford the payments then I don't see why not..

Cool.

Cant afford to run the scooby as a commuter any more. The services and fuel are killing me. And due to this i obviously have no cash for another car.

I only bought the car because we were meant to be moving a lot closer to where I work. A year on and this hasn't happened, my car is worth **** all due to mileage and i am sinking in debt.

Gonna get a nice fiesta to drive to work in.

Oh and my warranty runs out next week (nearly 500 to renew, second year high mileage), and i don't fancy driving 80 miles a day on a scooby with no warranty!

i am sinking in debt
Is taking out another HP or loan really the solution?

Probably not but i wont have to pay 600 to have big services every other month and shedloads on tyres and fuel. I also wont have to renew the warranty.

And i was only talking about a little second-hand fezzy, not another big HP. If this much-anticipated move happens i'll be able to pay it off quicker.

Some ideas (not sure if all atre valid for you)

See if you can get a Amex Blue card. Fixed at 5% on balance transfers. You could get a cheap car via that route and being a credit card you're flexible how fast or slow you want to pay it off.

or

Go back to dealer and see if they'll trade in scooby for something else. You may be able to get to a position where no money changes hands and you walk away with smaller car??? A scooby dealer may be able to arrange for changes to finance contract

can i make a suggestion?

well i will anyway....

from what your saying i guess you have credit cards and maybe loans? its sounds to me that it maybe more worth whilst tking a consolodation loan to bin it all into one payment.

working for a bank myself i see this on a day to day basis, and believe me your not on your own mate!

I work for egg and obviously know how they work, what I would do is give them a bell tell them that you have been shopping about for the best quote, say you have been offered a loan at 6.9% "presuming the loan is over £5k" and ask if they could match this apr, they will, and with eggs loan you get full flexibility as you would on a credit card, no offence to the above reply but having a car on a credit card is ridiculous, credit cards work on revolving credit, in easy terms it could meen that you would be paying the card off over a 21 year period. on the loan you can make extra payments whenever you want settle it and take a break after 6 payments.

get rid of all your debt in one go mate! have more dosh for your toy.

oh and if you want a cheap fiesta ive got one. j plate tax and mot very clean!

I hope that is of some use to you.

Thanks.

I'll look into the eggloan thing as it would be nice to get rid of the huge interest on my credit card.

I was exaggerating a little with the sinking in debt, but i do keep piling services etc onto my credit card. I definately want to keep the scoob - and its not worth as much as the finance due to high miles - just want something else for work commuting.
