Question Anybody into Airbrushing?

I'm looking for a good middle of the road airbrush, more for getting a good even coating on bodyshells on 1/24 kits etc than fine detail/picture type work. Anybody on here use/recommend one?

I've got a nice one (ooh-err) that cost me about £80 a few years back from Modelzone in Croydon.

It's by an American company called Testor and it's ideal for acrylic, which I've now converted to completely. It came with a selection of spray heads for different paints and mixes and a nice wooden box for keeping it in.

I've just looked it up and it is made by Testors as I thought but it comes under thgeir Aztec range. It's the A4709, if you want to look on their site (here)

Beats the hell out of the £5.99 Humbrol one I had before. Now all I need is a compressor with an accumulator...

I heard of people who use old fridge compressors as an air compressor.

I have one myself...just I'm yet to plumb in a pressure relief and oil catcher and regulator - I 'll get round to it getting the bit's one day

Cool

Cheers chaps, it was the machine mart one I was looking at, but I'll give the testors site a whirl first.

I've got a largish air reservoir that I 'found' in an old store at my former employers. I was looking for a s/h or new compressor to supply it but, hmmmm fridge compressors, I think I can feel a plan forming

Edited to say: Just been on the Testors website, very informative, but exceedingly over priced. So I did a googlesearch for Aztec & you can get them for at least half of testors prices on several other sites so I may be having to make a purchase later
