On ya own do you still go clubbing or the pub?
Been thinking about this for a while. If you are a single bloke with not many 'mates' do you still go clubbing or the pub on ya own, or do you sit in of a Saturday night etc?

I used to go down the pub with my brother a fair bit, but I'd certainly not go clubbing on my own. Only times I've really been to a pub on my own is when I'm out on business and don't fancy staying in the hotel, and unfortunately there are no wild sharky stories about pulling a couple of affectionate twins and taking them back to the room for a threesome, though there was this time when... lol.
I do go out to dinner here quite a bit on my own, sad? perhaps, but hey, I don't want to be a complete shut in, and I've a whole big city to explore, so it's pretty cool.
Oh, and do you have your bucket ready? lol

Is this a new cultural subclass? Alone in a big city... Oh I am about to go clubbing on my own. Have to do something apart from get Lagered on my own... Some females I know are meant to go to this club, so it is not entirely without a motive ...

you could be right about the sub-class there! I'm here, in a big city, all on my own, well, ok, got my besy friend nicky here but if we go out clubbing together people could suspect her and I are a couple, so that kinda puts off the girls n boys sometimes!
If I had the ***** to go to a club on my own I would, I know that one of the clubs (Joe's) does a School Disco night at the weekend and I have been tempted to put the ol school tie to good use, but I've never got the ***** to do it yet, but hey, maybe I will Thing is, I'd want to make sure they are not real school girls, would not want to get into any trouble lol

I regularly go raving on my own.
Trouble is as I know so many people in the hardcore scene then I usually end up bumping into somebody I know, or more often, somebody that knows me, but is a total stranger to my eyes!
I gotta lay off the caffiene
astraboy.

Like Astraboy I used to go clubbing on my own. I knew loads of people through DJ'ing so you'd always bump into somebody.
A mate of mine who recently moved into London went to a speed dating event and got a few birdz to go clubbing with. I was up for going but my darling wife didn't think it was appropriate.

I have done a lot of drinking in alot of places around the world and the UK is the only place I never go out on my own. Not sure how much of this is due to being a novelty in some countries , how much is due to peoples change in attitude when they go away and how much is due to English people not being as friendly and welcoming as people in other parts of the world.

You know youve had a good night when you come down at 12 in the afternoon, and people are saying you still stink of booze

I think going clubbing/pubbing on your own is fine. After all if you're going to try "pulling" a lass in a club you hardly need your mates to help do you?
Just turn up a bit later than usual and pretend to have lost your mates

Would never have gone clubbing on my own or even to the pub in the past but nowadays I like to go in my local with the paper or a car mag and throw a few Stella's down, to be honest sometimes I like my own company for a bit away from the wife and kids and sometimes you dont feel like talking to your mates in the pub and these days its such a logistical nightmare getting them in the same place at the same time its hardly worth the effort !

got caught out on friday - got home from work early, was feeling totally knackered and decided to slope off to the pub for a couple of pints, and then go home for a bit of shut-eye. parked the car in our street and wandered off to the pub - but met the missus coming out of the coffee shop next to the pub.
"hello! where are you going?"
"err...t o the pub."
"oh, on your own?"
"yeah."
"oh - ok then, see you in a bit."
some of the other ladies that she'd been having coffee with were looking a bit askance. next time she meets up with them it will be:
"hi, how's things - is your husband getting treatment for his problem?"
still, a few pints later i was feeling recovered from my traumatic week.
