My mate got pulled by the police the other day after apparently going through a red light. Anyway they followed him it was getting dark and raining and the police car had no lights on. Tha ploiuce car followed him into a petrol station and when he was filling up his car with petrol the officer came up to him and said "do you know why I have pulled you?"

To which my mate replied I don't know has my brake light stopped working like your front two"

Couldn't stop laughing when I heard that especially knowing the pedantic voice my mate would have used when he said that.

ive had words with coppers for pulling me over when ive had a headlight out, when theres has been exactly the same

Possibly, might be winding you up,
but got away with once going through an amber / red light in one of the company cars (Jag S type), by a youngish copper, by asking him what the light was on when you went through, as you where a good 200 metres behind me ? He just got in his car and left.
