I know this is a dodgy subject for the interweb but does anyone have recommendations for companies that can do a decent monitored alarm system.
I'm looking for the ability to integrate a few wireless sensors and remote keypads with some of the elements of an existing system.

ADT have said that wireless sensors are unreliable (presumably because they cannot supply them) and their monthly fee seems pricey compared to others.

I had a system put in a year ago, and I know the guy that runs the company. He told me to comply with the governing body’s rules remote sensors are not allowed, and that the police will not respond unless the system is approved.

Watch ADT's prices very carefully. I get mine monitored and maintained for less than half they wanted to charge me.

The guy I used is in Hornchurch, Essex, mail me if you want his number.

I fitted a wireless system to my house a few years ago and it works a treat. Never had a false alarm and it can ring up to 4 different numbers to inform you what has activated the alarm. PM me if you want any more details.

ADT/Tyco are renowed for scamming their customers - they say free install/free kit - 1 year contract when in fact it's a minimum of 3 years...

Food for thought! Maybe what I have now is not that bad - certainly unlikely to be improved upon by ADT.
The Security Installer site was very useful. Is that run by a SN member?

We as an alarm company for over 25 years tend to avoid wireless equipment as a rule most of the cheapy stuff doesn't comply with regs and is a lot less relieable than wired systems.We have used the top end trade stuff on couple of occasions were needs be but it is hugely expensive compared to wired stuff.
I would get a few quotes and check closely the monitoring contract some companies one already mentioned in this thread sting you with a minimum 3 year contract at a quid a day which is expensive and you should be able to get it for at least half that
