Indeed Leslie. This is in fact replacing a Sony that's done me proud for more years than i care to admit to! Personally prefer to put the music on than telly, but thought it was about time i updated my televisual technology by several decades..!!

Some good prices here, but as Telboy says if you know which model you want check Kelkoo or Dealtime for comparisons,
Digital Direct
OR
PRC

or you could buy a What Video magazine, they have loads of ads in there,

I find www.pricerunner.co.uk to be one of the most reliable and comprehensive price comparison sites - but that pre-supposes you know what you want.

If you're still in research phase you might this one to be very useful http://www.wvip.co.uk/cgi-bin/reviews.php
Its a searchable database of past and present reviews from a number of TV/Home Cinema orientated consumer publications.

Also have a look at http://www.homecinemachoice.com - in particular the Forums section.

Hope they'll be of help.

Can highly reccomend Empire Direct, (they were the cheapest when I searched for the TV I was after using Kellkoo and pricerunner)

Superb service, order on-line and a human calls you to confirm delivery etc. And also you have a voice line to actually make enquiries on. As a note, they will only send orders to your credit card billing address for high value items.

Just a word of caution: Previously I've used Dabs, and they ended up sending and billing me for something I didn't order. When I tried to cantact them, it was almost impossible - you try and find a voice number. When I enquired via e-mail, they said send the item back, which I did, and then I had a reply saying "their technical dept will look at the item to find the fault and repair or replace it for me." WTF I wanted it refunded not repaired!! All attempts at contact were fruitless, and I was forced to get the credit card company to reclaim the cost back off Dabs.

So the moral is: make sure the company you order with can be contacted via phone to a real human who can understand you!
