A crazy project.
LOL Reuben's a bit of a character. And his missus is as barking mad as he is (and as fit as a butcher's cat). I like 'em.

Ah, she's a climbing champion. That explains her gorgous toned physique...
ahem... anyway.... Let's tile the roof, but first we have to make all 4000 tiles ourselves, by hand. Brilliant.

You've got to give it to them in that they have done the work themselves, unlike some of the waste of skins that have been on this series that just watch other people do the work.

I think it was £30k to buy and £100k to build, it was fantastic - first time I've ever seen this programme and I loved it
I'd love to do something like that (would have liked to see it completely finished though..)

How do I know that?
It's a well known short cut to the Shore at Leith!
Love driving past them too for a nosey - real scrubbers usually, although sadly, some of them look about 14......

Cool! Self build sounds fun - going to give it a go myself in the next few years if I can find the right plot - sounds familiar eh?
Done a few renovations over the years, but the house I'm in now has had major surgery. So far I have added a 20' x 25' extension, knocked down a single garaage and built a very large double garage, added a chimney (to the house not the garage ), added a veranda roof to the front of the house (without scaffolding ) and rewired, replumbed etc. etc.
Did everything myself apart from the plastering - love it as it's just so rewarding.

Just watched my tape of it. Huge amounts of respect for them being brave enough to try everything and anything Would have been a silly amount of money to pay for all the labour though.

Watched this tonight, the bit when they moved the lamp post made me laugh out loud. "The man said we could move it" "So what happens if someone turns up asking questions" "I'll tell 'em that we had permission!!" Cut that red tape!!
Be nice to see an undate when it's finished
