Family of dead cockle picker want compensation
I heard on the news driving to work
So let me just get this straight.... an illegal economic migrant, working illegally for an illegal gang master gets killed because of that gang master’s negligence, and now they want to be compensated by our government?!?
LOL What crazed human rights lawyer has put them up to this? I’ve never heard anything so stupid in my life.
Mind you, knowing how ****ed up the legal system in this country is, they will probably get it.

who are they claiming compo from? surely they should approach the criminal employer and claim under breaches of health and safety at work legislation? doubtful as to how well they will get on though...

Personally I think the government should sue the family as they have not contributes to the UK money pot and it must have cost the tax payer thousands to have the coast guard etc out there looking for them, we should look to recover that cost.

No-one has yet answered charlie's question - who would they claim compensation from???
If the family plans to sue the gangmaster who effectively sent them to their deaths then good luck to them.....I hope they get as much as they can....

What a joke. Every day that passes this country becomes increasingly more of a victim of political correctness gone wrong. Nah this is unclebuck we're talking about. Go check all his previous posts and tell me if I'm over reacting. I'm sick of people defending him for what his views. But the minute I mention that he has a weight problem, I get mods deleting my messages and e-mailing me. I mean, making fun of ethnic minority is okay but damn if you're allowed to joke about the their stretch marks..

except that everyone is going off the deep end when no-one knows the circumstances or any details about this alleged claim. it's a bit like *paedophile in tunbridge wells* - gangs of vigilantes roam the streets and eventualy beat up a dentist

Oh and PC who you think they are going to sue? The criminal gangs? Yeah i'd like them try and pull that one off bearing in mind that the family would have to have large sums of money in the first place to take on a civil case. Or are they going to get legal aid from our government?
