Not a released song and the recording isn't of best quality, I believe it was recorded from a live performance.

At last, Ian, you've achieved something useful

Sounds like an "unplugged" type performance, but not a bad song.

Cool

Yeh, it was one the tracks on her "Complicated" single, & i thought it was excellent & couldn't understand WHY it wasn't released or on the album.

very good track.. like most of avril's.

the only thing i cant stomach is being told in lyrics by a 17 year-old multi-millionairess how tough life is

Doesnt mean she cant have an opinion.

Its like someone over 40 saying the youth of today dont have it so bad....

how is it like that? she's never been an adult with little to no money (comparitively speaking)... whereas most of her audience are and really DO know how sucky life can be.

it would be more like me (a fully nourished adult) going over to ethiopia and singing about how difficult it is to find a good meal...

Used to think album was ok but really hard to stomach now it after seeing her interviewed

Spoilt teenager with pathetic moody stroppy attitude

No doubt she'll grow out of it

So is she singing about the youth in Ethiopia? - I think NOT

no, it's an analogy.

she's singing to a group of people who have a MUCH harder life than her, about how hard/sucky life can be. meanwhile she's counting her millions she's making from it.

in my analogy, i would, in other words, be singing about something i clearly know very little about (not being able to find food) to people who can't find food. AND i'd be making money to buy even more food.

there's an irony there.

Ironic - yes

I get you were analagising (is that word?)

What I was saying was that anyone can sing about anything if they have an opinion about it - for all we know she could have written the song for someone else who is in that position.

Oh **** it, I'm off to fight club as I've had 5 pints of Stella and am right up for a fight!

which would be fine, aside from the fact that practically ALL of her songs are about how tough life is

Excellent

Scoobynet members can even find a way to argue about Avril Lavigne now...

Says it all in relation to what this place is turning into

Very sad

The songs OK, but certainly not a tear-jerker in my view.

If she sings about a subject and it rings true for whoever is listening, then it has some merits. Whether the song writer has actually struggled with the topic is irrelevant. Listen to the lyrics and if it moves you, then it can't be all that bad IMHO.

Milo, give us a song about how tough it is to squat 300kg's and I'll respect you

SiPie, I agree. A good bit of light-hearted banter is where it's at. Some people shouldn't take things too seriously. It's like overhearing a pub conversation - just seconds before beer glasses start flying
