Question What are those all in one remote controls called

I remember reading a few threads about a remote control that you program with your existing remote controls. I think they look like PDA's with docking stations and cost about £150.

Any ideas, links, advice.

Thumbs up

These are good as well. I'm running TV, Vid, Digibox and home cinema off mine. Got it from Maplins for £25. One For All pretty much guarantee compatibility. If you've got a brand new piece of kit, you may have to send it to them to have the code flashed in to you unit (as I did). If they can't make it work, they'll refund you or upgrade your remote for free.

Cheers

Mark - which one did you get? All in one 6? (seen for £35 in maplin) I'm looking for one that'll do my nokia on digital box and my denon separates tuner (as well as the normal TV/Vid/home cinema etc.) Also want certain features like wide screen mode, subtitles, info etc. that I have on my current tv and digibox remotes. i.e. I want to effectively be able to bin my old remotes (well, put them in a cupboard somewhere )

Hi Mate

Me too.

I started off getting a Signature 4 but they've offered me a Signature 6 because my home cinema kit has a tuner as well. I've returned the old one and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new one so I can put the others safely away.

Cheers

The oneforall 6 Kameleon has a learning mode that you can assign some of the more obscure commands from your standard remotes to a macro button.

Philips Pronto is the king of all remote controls, you can design your own screen, design your own buttons, etc.

Philips 6 way LCD Remote Control looks good at £40. Anyone know much about it? Seems to do everything?

Get a Dell Axim for £169 - and get a PDA - all software can be downloaded of the internet with all the pre-programmed Hi-Fi and TV and Video and using the infra-red you can capture any signal.

You can then put it in your car with a £59 satellite GPS system and have sat-nav.
