Does it look like an OE one or aftermarket? Is it a vent to atmosphere type or what the **** is it?

It's a VTA (Vent To Atmosphere) dump/blow off valve. Deffo aftermarket, looks like it might fit a new age model scooby. Have a peek here as it shows what the OE DV (a recirculating type) looks like, vs this aftermarket type.

If you want to sell it mate, your best bet is to aim it at the RS Turbo/cosworth/R5 Turbo owners.

It has a 1" pipe on it, it will fit to Sierra/saphire Cosworth in standard hotside fitment, RS Turbo (if owner has alloy Tee piece for d/v fitting with 1" take off), or any other car like Ren 5 turbo/punto turbo/uno turbo (as rs turbo explanation), Mk4 golf GTi turbo/audi A3 Turbo/other VAG 1.8 Turbo cars (skoda etc), will plum stright into standard hose and replace plastic standard recirc valve (will need bung to close off recirc pipe), may be best aiming it at cossie/R5 turbo peeps as VAG/RS turbo cars are sensitive to stalling with d/v open at idle.

I've had a bit of experience with these things.

It won't be a direct fit to a 93 WRX because the intercooler to std d/v pipe is 19mm IIRC, prob used some kind of reducer to fit (if indeed it was fitted to your car)
