Bought a new contract phone from Phones4u.
I'm happy with the phone and the service from Single Point/Vodafone.
But the more I looked through the paper work, the more I was annoyed.
I asked them to change a few things they'd put in error on the contract, but they said could I call single point tomorrow (today) and get it changed as it would be easier than raising new paper work. Now initially I only spotted an error in my surname and the top-up options.
Well spoke to single point and it seems the top ups they sold me don't exist, hence the difference. They've ticked the 'send him loads of junk mail' when I specifically said don't. The tarriff isn't quite the same as they are quoting in store either.
Single Point have been very helpful today, but I would recommend you avoid Phones4u, specifically the Redhill branch.
I will be logging a complaint today. Just my 2 peneth.
Wish I'd gone on Saturday looking for a phone, would have more options of who to buy it from.
Rgds, Alex

I know where you are coming from, but they have improved there service, especially since they were taken over.
However, I'm going to contact Phones4u regarding this, as they are advertising false tarriffs / top ups.

Spoke to Phones4u in Redhill.
Apparently the £9 top up (texts) they sold me yesterday, doesn't exist and all their documents are showing the new tarriffs apparently. Apparently I must of imagined it?!
Well, the first and last time I buy from them.

Also see if you can send an email to the top bloke because IIRC, he comes down hard on staff that mess up Think he was on some show last year where he was trying to motivate staff and get them working better.

Yeah, just like C Dunstone of Carphone Warehouse is supposed to do.
Great marketing, but when it came to my problem (why did it take 5 months to return my handset when they'd received the replacement from Nokia after 10 days), they didn't want to know and I got fobbed off.
Tossers have lost my business for future.

Right, I've spoken to someone else now, and had it confirmed that Vodafone are pulling the strings (own) as far as SinglePoint are concerned. And SinglePoint have been great.
I'm going to keep the phone/package as I can't really save anything more by getting it elsewhere. Just a lesson learned, stick to my guns next time and make sure they check with the provider.
Cheers, Alex
