And Scooby's were by far the most popular car. Saw 3 Nova's and 24 differant scooby's. At one point there were 5 in a line, most with booming base boxes and pink neon lights. Also saw 3 Evo 6's.
But I didn't see ANY Noble's, so I'll still be unique later this year
3-4 Years ago when I used to go down there, I was the only kiddy in a scooby, but now.....
It's not even like they had cheap L reg's either, some were in brand new 03 STI's, god knows how they pay the insurance, daddy probably pays

didn't see any noble's ???
are we talking about the same car here, I would think anyone with the brass to spend on a noble would not soil their reputation/kudos/general wellbeing at a "neds 'R' Us" meeting.
Or did I get the wrong end ( also spells ned , ironioc eh/? ) of the stick ?

There was a Countach in Southend during the day.
And boy, did he want everybody to know about it. Never heard so much unnecessary throttle-blipping in my life!!! They *do* look good though, even if they are allegedly a bugger to drive...

You saw a Countach telboy, in sarf-end of all places, well I never.
Well I was lucky enough to have a little play with what looked like a very early white SV yesterday, what an awesome looking machine.
I thought to myself I wonder how fast these things accelerate bearing in mind it must be over 20 yrs old now. It didn't seem that quick but the noise was to die for. He must have wondered why a crappy old Impreza wagon kept sitting in his rear window. Mind you he probably couldn't see anything out of it- almost no rear visibility on those things.
Just couldn't believe how wide his rear tyres were either. Top motor.

Nacro -- dunno about Countachs, but I can say that a Diablo can accelerate VERY quickly indeed
Three years back when I had my Volvo T4 (very lightly modded with bleed valve), I had a play with a Diablo on a long stretch of dual carriageway.
I saw him in the mirrors, probably doing about an 80mph cruise. As he came alongside I booted it in 4th. I maybe got a couple of lengths in front, then I heard a noise like the Battle of Britain memorial flight suddenly approaching at zero feet
He then goes by me like I've missed a gear, and proceeds to make my 230bhp look very puny indeed. Fantastic noise, too.

Ahh southend. I loved going down there. Used to hang out with the RS guys, who were not your sterotypical types, well, some of them were, but the ones my age appreciated performance cars, not matter what they were.
I'd still go down there, as it's a bit of fun, and amongst some of the badly modded cars there are some real gems.
