I've just been informed a replacement for my damaged Canon Digital IXUS 400 will take 28days to get to me!
Stock shortages or something!
However I can go for another model.
Suggested alternatives pls upto £400
Physical size, appearance, picture quality, and video capability, all important.
Cheers
Peter

Dont ask me mate I've been looking for over a month after taking a bad new Kodak back - the more you read up about the perfect camera, the more you find out whats wrong with it - E.g Fuji Finepix 5000 & 7000 way overcompress the JPG images and the similar Nikons cant focus in the dark due to no AF assist. The Sony D1 (or was it DSC V1) gets great reviews though, but the styling is retro square like the canon G5.
Consider buying it through http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home in NY - with exch rate and costing pound to the dollar...esp if you have a mate that can forward it to you...
That Ixus 400 is $399 (about £240) and a huge 256Mb memory is $50 or so...
