Question

Am I right in thinking that all products sold in the EU now have to have a 2 year manufacturers guarantee?

Am having a bit of a dispute with a plumber who's just installed a new boiler and he claims its only covered for a year (after telling me it had a 2 years warranty when he quoted me for it).

Not sure about the EU thing, but you do have statuatory rights i.e. you should reasonably expect a boiler to last for 7+ years and not one year regardless of the guarantee period.
