MORE DRIVERS JAILED THAN BURGLARS
#1
[Apologies if it is a repeat topic]
Did you see that in London's Evening Standard front page yesterday?
Now I havent looked into it (there are I guess millions of drivers but only thousands of burglars), but (and especially having returned that morning from a friendly polite country that has no speed cameras) my heart sank about this ridiculous asylum of a country once again...

Have you considered the fact that most people in this country have a driving licence. Therefore, that means that most thieving scumbags have or had a driving licence.
A lot of the time we know these people are committing crimes but can't prove it.A tool often used by the Police is to catch these ba**ards whilst they are driving with no insurance etc, put them before the court and get them banned. Then catch them driving whilst they are disqualified and get them locked up. That way it keeps them off the streets so they can't commit any more crimes.
So, in essence it looks like a lot of 'innocent' motorists are in jail, but in reality the vast majority are just plain criminals.

Thats not how I read the report, I think you are putting two and two together and getting 5.
These are people jailed for minor motoring offences, not becasue they are burglars driving a car .........

Imsbman. the actual report wasn't about drivers per se: It stated that there were more people in prison for "driving related offences" than for burglary.
Although these offences do include TWOC, DUI, dangerous driving, causing death by dangerous driving, etc.
