Are you still living in the same house?

You could always go through her rubbish looking for clues.

I'm sure a PI would find it but it might be expensive doing so!

Edited to say: Make sure your solicitor knows about this.

Does she have an accountant or Financial Adviser?

If you're not happy with the settlement and wish to take it further then she will have to declare all her assets on a Form E which is sworn on under oath.

Failing to do so won't do her much good if later found as you can re-open the paperwork should she be seen in a brand new car for example.

We have gone well past the form E stage when she failed to disclose 2 accounts that i new she had which i had the account numbers for and was able to ask for 12 months statements. I know that she has another account and i've searched for the account number but she has been careful not to dispose of a statement that i could find. Our next step is a financial dispute resolution hearing where we try to reach a settlement.
She has made it clear that she wants everything hence why i am trying to find this account.

She may have been reckless enough to make transfers from the accounts you know about to it - if so the details may be in the statements you already have.

Wink

=imagines the fall out if it was a wife looking to trace her husband's hidden bank account "with a substantial sum of money in"....=

TBH what's her bank account to do with you? And yes, I'd say the same if it was the scenario above. If it's not your money, it's not your money... There could of course be mitigating circumstances but based on the evidence given, it smacks of greed, to me.

=shrug= Just IMHO.

Have checked the statements i have and there are no transactions from this other aco****.
Greed does not come into play here. I have made very reasonable offers so that she has a family home. I am about to loose everything i have worked for in life due to the problems associated with divorce in that the mother nearly always gets to keep the children.
Maybe the courts will look at leaving me with something to rebuild my life however i have been advised to expect the worst.
Hence why i am looking into all assets being put into the pot to be shared at the ratio the courts announce.

Mice_Elf

"but based on the evidence given, it smacks of greed, to me"

So what 'evidence' are you referring to exactly?

We dont know how the cash got there - it could have been siphoned off from a joint account or something!

S96 - exactly...mitigating circumstances, to which I alluded in my post.

Based purely on "She's got, I want" it sounded like greed.

Mice-Elf- What an utter cráss statement when it's okay for a man to be bled dry.

Equality works both ways.

If a settlement is to be worked out then it's only fair both parties should declare their assets.

Why should the man give up say 50% when clearly the woman isn't prepared to?

The only result here would be that she get's her entitlement to his assets but gets to keep all of hers and he gets to keep the remainder of his assets only.

Yes most people would try and be cute but that isn't the case here as he knows she has money hidden.

Spoon - again - read my post... There's some awfully selective reading going on here.

I would say the same whether it was a man asking or a woman. It doesn't matter one way or the other.

Just a thought but why dont you request a credit search report on your address and see if she was credit scored by any other banks - that might give you an initial lead to go on!

Edited to say:

experian, equifax etc etc

Mice-Elf- I've read your post and I stand by what I said, it's crass.

I suggest you didn't understand the original post because it never smacked of greed one bit just survival.

I guess you've never and I honestly hope you don't ever find yourself in a similar position, it's sickening.

Spoon, it's true, I haven't ever been in a situation - just read many of them on here.

To say it's crass just means that you have and can obviously sympathise. However, I stand by what I said - that from the first post it sounded more like "She has, I want" than "Let's put everything in the pot and share 50-50".

OK?

LOL...

Lewegie - I sincerely hope that you can sort it all out and that it doesn't become hate-filled and nasty, especially if there are children involved. All the best.

Lewegie,

Surely you can bring this up at the hearing. I would imagine that mentioning she failed to disclose 2 bank accounts previously when she was supposed to have done it (legally?) will refelect bad on her and possibly give cause for investigation or pressing questioning.
