Where i work we get paid £70 a year for being a first aider.I've got a feeling this is on the low side.Is there a statutory minimum payment or is it all at the deiscretion of the employer.
I work for a subsiduary of TNT.

you don't have to get paid anything. our first aiders don't - if they want to become a team leader they have to do the first aid at work course. other companies "incentivise" their employees by offering an extra days holiday, or a small payment like the one you get.

According to the Unison website they did a survey.
60% of employers make a payment.
40% dont.
Of those that do the av payment is £128 / year.
It would seem that its totally up to the employer.
