Accouting Programs
#1
Just after a bit of advice please, to all you accountants/business owners out there.
I'm looking for an accounting program which will enable me to record all sales and purchases and do my VAT and Tax returns with ease.
My cuurent thinking is swaying me towards Sage Instand Accounts plus, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Jamie

Sage is a bit of an industry standard - we use it (line 50). it does pretty much everything. cheaper products are available like quick books - i should imagine they will do all of the basic stuff.

Thanks for the reply!
Is Line 50 easy enough to use? I know that it integrates with my online shopping software so maybe it is the one to go for, for the extra £££'s.

Sage gets my vote too. Can be quite costly depending on the version you choose, and if you get every update they offer.
It is very user friendly though, and has a brilliant reporting facility.

Sage is the industry standard, but like VHS, it's not necessarily the best..
QuickBooks (by Intuit) is more powerful, has more features, and is increasingly preferred by accountants (though still some way behind Sage)
