Not a book, but a subscription-based web site: http://www.photographytips.com/ is very readable and a pretty good introductory guide. For US$4.95/month I'd suggest you subscribe for a month and have a read.

Scooby96

I went to the library on thursday and picked up a book call Taking great photographs by John Freeman it's not a bad read and if your quite new to photography like me it's got some good idea's (personally wouldn't buy it though) all the other books i saw in library where very specific (lanscape, portrait etc etc), might wander round waterstones as i've got some vouchers

AndyC_772 Endgame - stunning. Good effort.
Im my experience, taking the photos is not that difficult. Coming up with the idea is the difficult bit. Hats off to Andy, brilliant in conception AND execution. Got my vote, hope you win
