I'm currently on O2, but want to update the phone and take out a new tariff with Vodafone.

Can I take my current number with me?

Thumbs up

Sure can - just ask your provider for a PAC number (they'll know what this is). Takes a couple of days.

Cheers

Make sure you are outside your minimum contract window (12 months usually) before trying this though. Note, if you've upgraded your phone recently, you may be in a new 12 month contract.

Thanks - I've been with this contract for about six years, hence me wanting to keep the number.

I'll go hunting for a replacement today!

You work for Vodaphone? Doing what? My other half is having a right battle with them about billing and not having a phone at the mo. Any useful contacts would be gratefully received.

Long story but the basic's are phone broken, sent away under warranty. 3 months before a new one comes with no SIM card. Still trying to charge us for 3 months line rental when we had no phone! Returned saying cancel the contract! No loan phone available. Still in the 1 year contract.

We have agreed to take the contract up again if the 3 months line rental are credited. At £100 per month, we ain't paying for line rental when we had no phone to use!

What do you think the chances are of Vodaphone crediting the 3 months line rental?

Cheers!

I would stick to your guns, although i very much doubt that you'll get anymore back than what it has cost you in line rental, unless your line rental is 100 a month.

Seems odd there were no loan phones, maybe someone else would know more about how quickly something should be replaced under warranty...

Remember though your problem is with the company that made the phone not vodafone... they just provide the service that goes through it..!! might be worth contacting the company who made it...??

Was just a thought... good luck and sorry I wasn't more helpful...
