been asked to look at new phone solution ie an idea

need about 60 extensions / voice etc

we have an oldish alcatel based system at moment,


anybody got any ideas for me where to start

our lines have to go via cable and wireless , but as for hardware

Try contacting BT commercial sales and see what they recommend then shop around with the specification required.

If you want to source the hardware at a competitive rate try Ghekco for the actual handsets - reconditioned but with same warranty / replacement service as new stuff

as far as i know

nothing fancy , alcatel have mentioned an omni box ?? to replace the old kit

Perhaps you could be a little more specific, ie call recording functionality (or future functionality), single site specific, external voicemail capabilities, tie line, hunt lines etc etc

single site,

we have around 60 dd extensions all routed via C&W

4 bt lines on an isdn circuit

we are looking for basic voicemail, thats about it

Not sure on hardware manufacturers as such but I have an "associate" who supplies large blue chip co's with poota ware who might be able to point you in the right direction.
