Just driving through Southampton this afternoon along West Quay, when a Black M3 (new shape) goes flying past me the other way, with blue light and sirens.

Number plate M3 ROR or M5 ROR

You have been warned :-)

Why are they w@nkers? Or is it just envy

Not sure about the private plate though, maybe that's so it looks even less like a police car???

Seems a bit excessive.

Why would they need to buy such a high priced motor?

Question

Echo: Maybe a doctor?

Why would the police go to the bother (and expense) of getting a personalised number plate? Haven't they got better things to spend our money on?

Could just be a normal driver like me, who, 30 years ago had some fun with a Police Siren on my car!! White 3Litre Granada!

The number of cars I pulled over and the number that got outa my way was amazing ............. god I was a naughty 46 year old!

Apparently the drug boys have the best motors as they spend months under cover and need the gear to back up their act. Hence the M3 with the private plate. I also heard on here that there's a silver CLK cabrio on the fleet as well.

Imagine having to do a stint under cover as a major cocaine importer and turning up to your "deal" in a white Astra 1.4 LS with steel wheels and no hub caps!!!!

If the drugs squad were using an M3 to front their investigations I doubt they'd be blue lighting it around the city LOL

Did it have a big aerial? My guess is that it is a fire chiefs car. They use their own personal cars and have blues & twos fitted for when they are on a shout.

Because they're beemer drivers duh. Ones driving standard gets flushed down in the toilet when you drive beemers.

Correct guess he is a doc , works in prehospital care and called out by fire brigade in difficult situations.
Works in Southampton.
