Not sure on legal front, but once Dell delivered 2 memory modules to my house for no apparent reason. They phoned me up and asked for them back, I told them they were sat on my desk and would be available for collection whenever they wanted to send someone for them. That was 2 years ago and they're still sat on my desk (after having spent 18 months in my computer )

About 6 months is the rule I believe - much like lost property.
However, you have to have made/make steps to contact them to advise them that you have their stuff & I guess prove it as well.
For instance, Dabs sent me Office 2000 Pro instead of an ISDN card or somesutch.
Told 'em about it, moaned about not getting my stuff, moaned again when the stuff still didn't come, eventually received the stuff, tried to give Office to courier, who wouldn't have it, told 'em again & they said they'd collect. Quick as a flash - nothing, never, ever. After 6 months, it went into the company assets log.
You also have a duty of care to keep it in the condition it arrived - ie don't use it.
Lucky you btw - looking out in FS in 6 months time

I run a mail order company myself and have always assumed the Unsolicited Goods and Services act as being 6 months.
If a company knows about the double delivery and still hasn't made plans to collect within a few weeks then chances are they won't (or have forgotten). I've (on occasion) written off the odd order like this as the cost of recovery can be more hassle and financial cost than just shrugging your shoulders and walking away.
Depends on the value of the item(s) and professionalism and determination of company involved at the end of the day...
