Replica Watches from abroad
#1
Thinking of buying a replica watch from a website that is based in Hong Kong or Beijing.
Will I have to pay any fees once it gets here, like VAT?
Will customs consficate it?
Cheers

MMMmmmm
It'll last you a week then turn green and fall to bits.
If it's a 'replica' then it's an illegal counterfeit as I doubt Tag, Rolex, etc. will give license to these companies to fake them!!!!

I would have thought it would depend on its value. I would have thought you would have to pay duty as well. It's no different if you went out there and bought it. Technically you would have to declare it when returning, as you can only bring in goods to a certain value before duty is paid.

Between Italy and France, there is a "brigade" of police officers and customs officials who stop large numbers of people carrying counterfeit goods - usually fake designer gear which has been sold in markets in Italy. Anyone caught has the gear confiscated and burnt/destroyed (while-you-wait no less!!!) and then they have to pay a fine. So, confiscation may NOT be the only thing to worry about.

Replicas from abroad, through Websites like Highendreplicas, watchtime, Fancyfakes, etc. Are subject to import duty(17.5%).
Also if opened by customs they will be confiscated, and you will be liable for the cost, ie you wont get your money back off the vendor.
Most sites dont ship to the UK anyway.
I used to buy a Swiss replica for each of the real watches I bought(if available).
I would wear the replicas when working, or doing work in unknown areas. Now I dont bother, as I dont work in high risk places anymore.
So over the years I have traded watches, sold them and bought new ones. Therefore I have a few 'replicas' which are surplus to requirments. Which one did you have in mind?
