Apart from the American "hero" nation slant, anyone else think it's a good film/concept. Why should Aliens always be depicted as coming in peace. Apart from war of the worlds obviously

I thought the camera caught my good side really well Especially when I punched the Alien

Loved it, however what about mars attacks and signs...both films had dodgy aliens too.

I don't think the sun caught my good side when you hit me BTW, I can look much better with make up.

Watched this last night too - good, no brainer entertainment.

But I'd forgotten how irritating having adverts cut into films at inappropriate points was

I've obviously been spoiled watching sky movies more than any of the terrestrial commercial channels

independence day

Typical American crap! Really good effects with a hurried pants story around it.

Worst bit was when they destroyed the big ship above America bu a series of unbelieveable flukes; then suggested 'We'll tell the rest of the world how we did it!' - Cut to a tribe in Africa with spears having downed their space ship...??????

Let's face it. The story is just "War of the Worlds" with the common cold supplanted by a computer virus. Fun no-brain popcorn eye-candy though.

In my mid teens I remember having a teenage crush on Diana from V. That was until I found out about her Budgie eating habits..

ID is ok, too much of the usual USA saves the world thing, TBH, if aliens landed in the USA i think they'd take one look and not bother attacking!

Signs is very good, very thought provoking.

Fire in the sky is pretty cool too!

one good scene to test your home theatre system is when that circular building with all those 'elvis has returned' freaks on top blows up....awesome!

I hated the bit in independence day when they pictured the RAF,

jolly good show old the chaps the americans have saved the world using morse code. hoorah!

pathetic

V was more like an updated take on **** Germany (sp) rather than a typical "war of the worlds" theme (eg the "Visitor Youth", detaining scientists, rounding up anyone who questioned them..)

I was surprised that Jeff Goldblum already knew the operating system for the very advanced aliens, and could write a virus in minutes.. and then phone up the space ship with his modem and deliver the virus.. I mean.. please...
