Got this today. Is it for real or a scam? I'm not convinced although it looks petty convincing...

could be a website setup to look exactly the same as ebay so scammers can get your passwords and username. infact it most likely is as i cant see ebay ever sending out emails requesting info like that.

Not seen this but thanks for making everyone aware of it. It is the type of thing that could easily catch you out.

Well, as I say I clicked the link, but it didn't connect to anything. I certainly didn't give over any information. Maybe their imitation scam site is down ATM
-thanks Luke-

i had the same scam mail as in the original post, contacted ebay and had to send it to them, they confirmed it was someone trying to get my credit card details.
got a follow on mail from the scammer a few days later threatening to close my ebay account if i didn't fill in the update form, sent this off to ebay again, defo scam.
then got one this morning saying ebay tried to take a payment from my credit card (for the months account) but it was rejected and could i submit my c/c details, absoloute bollox as i pay by direct debit!
just watch out for these and others as they are done quite well, all the clickys on mine worked, and the scamer even replied to a question i posted thru the help hub

Blimey, thats interesting. I'm glad the link failed, though my antenae were twitching...
When I registered I delined to give my CC details, instead choosing the option to provide a second email address with a '.com' in it. Glad I did now, and would advise anybody registering to do the same if possible.
I await the follow up mails with amusement.

If you check the link, although it looks to be ebay, when you grab the link's properties it comes back to an IP in the Philippines or somewhere
Naughty Naughty.... check the grammar and spelling of the email. Its not very good.
Known scam.
