Nevetas,
Looks good, I might put my Air rifle on the for sale and might go back to clay pidgeons.
I've got a HW100 that has shot about 150 pellets, i never get the time to use it.

Do you know anyone that might interested.

Well, I've been watching the garden all morning as these series of earth lumps appear. Nearly had it an hour ago, earth started twitching but I didn't have a spade to hand 5 in a straight line about 2ft apart every couple of hours

Apart from that, anyone's welcome for some target-shooting of rabbits when the weather gets a bit warmer & they come out to play more. Pigeons too but they're here now.

However, the pheasant & partridges that live in/around the garden are off-limits I keep hoping that they don't stray too much on the estate when they're out on their shoot!

Puff
Once got a mole with a pair of size 11 wellies !
Similarly had seen hills appear during the day, but had squashed them down to mow the lawn
Later I noticed it had been pushed up again, so squashed it down again. Five minutes later it was back up, so I squashed it down and waited.

A few minutes later, the earth moved (as they say) and I jumped forward on my heels. Not very PC, but the spade was then used to prove my success. It didn't do that again

That was off topic, but I used to enjoy rifle shooting, hence how I found the thread.

I've got access to around 1000 acres of farmland locally, and basically shoot anything that walks/crawls/hops/flies (apart from Ryanair, but tempted ) over it

However I prefer to shoot vermin, squirrels being my speciality - hate the little s0ds, just tree rats with a good PR man

Have a funny story from a couple of weeks ago....a mate and I (he pays for the shooting rights) were out in the woods on the prowl, walking up about 50 yards apart through the woods to see what we could put up. Things were a bit quiet, so I amused myself by blasting the squirrel drays out of the treetops. Nothing happened except for a big cloud of oak leaves gently drifting down to earth each time We walked on a bit further, and my mate stopped under a tree, to be greeted with a loud "THUD" as a very dead squirrel fell at his feet He said "I knew who that was"

I'll save the tale for another time of when we were chugging down a farm track next to the road on an ATB, both in cammo gear from head to toe, two shotguns (in slips) strapped to the front of the ATB, me dangling a rabbit i'd just shot, when along comes three plod in an off roader, and gave us a very disapproving look......

Oop Noorth - Steeple Bumpstead - right up in the Essex/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire corner. More importantly, totally rural and surrounded by zillions of acres of farmland and things to shoot

Gah I really need to get back into shooting. Got my Theoben Evo .22 stuck up in the loft doing nowt at present. But really want to get back into clay pigeon shooting when the finances allow.

Should be off to the states again this year so time to fire some proper weapons

Simon.
