Oh dear! Does sound like his staff need some training and also customer service needs to be sorted out too!

Can't believe a supplier would send those kind of emails to customers, and as for threats, is that not a little stupid? Personally speaking if I'd posted something on a BBS in reply to comments about poor service from a business and the owner of said business or one of thier staff sent me an abusive or threatening email, I'd be more than happy to mention it to the local plod, would be interesting to see the chaps reaction to that.

I've got a dave Hinde M3 frame, great frame, but they did **** me about for weeks before i actually got it, although the money was taken out the day i ordered it!! Also drove 70 miles to the shop (luckily on my way somewhere) to get a seat post which they told me was in stock when i phoned them in the morning, only to be told when i got to the shop that they hadn't got any!! Also my mate ordered a set of Sid SL's from him, money taken that day, forks still hadn't arrived after 3 months after many phone calls. The money was eventually refunded but had to write a letter to them and then wait 28 days for it!!!

I would never deal with them again, although i do love the frame!

Its amazing..

Some have contacted the Bike magazines about all the problems. yet they dont want to print an article. Why????? because he is a major advertiser in their mags. protect the client!!!

Thanks for link guys.

I nearly bought stuff from there as they appear to be very cheap.

Good warning.

good example of a small business not coping with growth. Hinde used to be known as an excellent wheel builder (probably the best) and quality frame builder (among the best) in road racing circles - I nearly bought a custom road frame from him.

I blame the monkeys that work for him....

no I never met him, so TBH I'm only going on his reputation from about 10 years ago.....things have obviously changed.

I ended up buying a Dave Russell frame instead. DR is a smashing old guy, but I wouldn't put him in front of customers either...

When I was into bikes as a kid, I knew (of?) two supposedly damn good framebuilders in my area.

Both of them were miserable as sin.

(Mind, if I was a 45 yr old craftsman, I wouldn't be jumping through hoops for a spotty teenager either...)
