Just finished watching the rerun of the excellent Dambusters. Just as moving and incredible as the first time round.
It's put me in the mood for obscure WW2 yarns. I reckon this tale should be interesting.

DOCUMENTARY: The Welsh Great Escape

Documentary on the escape of German prisoners of war from the Welsh market town of Bridgend on 10 March 1945. The 70 POWs, who were officers of the German army and the SS, followed months of secret tunnelling with a daring escape into the countryside, prompting a huge manhunt across the UK. This programme tells the entire story and features two of the prisoners returning to Bridgend for the first time in almost sixty years.
