hi all,
got one these for my stepdad for crimbo, and his XK8 has a heated front windscreen so its says in the Bell manual that it wont work with cars with a heated front screen, can this surely be true or is it bollocks, ie it might not work as well ????

Any feedback woul dbe very helpfull......

Depends on the kind of unit, I think.

I know the GPS receivers have problem receiving the Satellite signals through the fine wire elements embedded into the windscreens. The BEL (550 for example) detectors work on detecting light emitted from the GATSOs, so I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem for them.

I have used a Bel 990 for 3 years and have had no issues having a heated windscreen.

I use a snooper and have it at the far side of the screen as the elements dont go all the way across so it is looking out of a clear bit of glass.
