Surely it would be easiest (and cheapest) to extend your mortgage, if you have one.

I was gonna say, you'll be hard pressed to get an unsecured £100k loan just like that, unless you are earning some serious moolah (in which case it shouldn't be a problem).

Otherwise, the loan company will defo want some collateral of some sort to secure this loan against in case anything bad happens.

Must be one heck of an extension though...£80k could buy a house easy!

Why would you want it unsecured??

Bound to cost more that way.

For that sort of money you're best off remortgaging or getting a mortgage on your house if you don't already have one. If you do have one, talk to your mortgage company in the first instance
