The ones that already know me don't have to bother
I'm sorry to have to post like this, but I don't know any other way... I'm sure there are those that are "in the closet" so to speak, so I apologise for using the board in this way.
Thanks in advance, and all the best in the New Year to everyone else reading this thread.

I introduced a police person onto Scoobynet but he was not impressed with the reception he got, quote:
"Well what can i say they all seem to be nobbers so I have moved my thoughts and threads now onto the www.5ive-o.com site where cops are appreciated and it seems a more friendly site."
5ive-0 insists you register even to view so no chance of anonymous lurking on there.

Well Burr they are all looking at the profiles to see what cars to stop!
Nooting the comment that one officer thought everyone here was nobbers I hope they would realise that most people have nothing against individual officers, and especially those that offer help and assistance on web message boards. They are more complaining about the system, which the officer on the street probably is too!

Yep most officers disagree with the current situation...
Lets face it, someone who drives without insurance and gets caught is likely to recieve a smaller fine than the insurance would cost them and they know it, which is why we have so many uninsured drivers out there.
People who dont register their cars dont get speeding fines from gatso's.
People who pay insurance and register their cars do.....
The penalty for not registering a car to you is minimal, however you get a bigger fine for various offences depending on how much you earn!!! (the repeat offenders usually not earning anything)
This is not right.
All this is common knowledge so I cant get in trouble for saying it! And the people who regularly offend know better than anyone how to get away with offences because they have been in the situation a lot more times than those who are usually safe and law abiding who make a mistake once!
I think the penalties are unfairly weighted and discriminatory against usually law abiding people and I can evidence that with numerous court results.
The system does make the Police look bad....but Im not going to bother to defend us as we are 'always' to blame for almost everything.
I'll probably still get in trouble if any 'big wigs' read this but hey...............truth hurts.

When I dont like the way the company I work for is run I speak out. It doesnt make me popular with the 'bosses' usually but it does with the people who matter, not that I do it for popularity. Some people are just 9 to 5 jobsworths, others give a toss and try and make things change.
I'm sure if the boys on the beat made enough noise it would make a diff. Surely you have one of the better unions?

Jye,
I agree. I have been prmised promotion in my job for 3 years with no result.
After a lot of thought I lost it one day with the top brass of my company( one of the biggest in the UK) and told them what I thought. I had my rise on Dec 1st.
People can make a difference but all too often they just sit back and take what is thrown at them.
Chip.

Its not MY company (the Police) that is run incorrectly!!!
Its the legal system...
The Police are always looking to prosecute people for the offences thay commit...its the British justice sytem that occurs AFTER the Police do their bit that makes the decision as to what happens to people after we deal with them.
THESE are the people you should have a problem with not the Police. The sentances are not decided by us.
