Question

I fancy a new TV for the Bedroom since the old 27" blew up

Since the TV downstairs is 100hz, going back to a flickery 50hz just gives me headaches. I'm not too bothered about the sound (nicam will do) and at some later date I may get a nice A/V amp to go with it (after the DVD player of course).

Now I have about £350 to spend, been doing some searching but not really found anything yet.

so Does anyone know what and where you can get the cheapest 100hz widescreen (ideally 28") or an I thinking the impossible?

I bought an ex-rental 28" 100hz Toshiba widescreen with pro-logic for £200.

I think I got a good deal as it was me than rented it(!) though it wouldn't hurt to check boxclever etc.

Back from the masses in the sales

No such thing as a bargain these days...most of the stuff on the list was cheaper off the net (and delivered to the door)

So far the Thomson is the winner (thanks jameswrx) at Empire @ £370 inc delivery and VAT. Or Comet @ £381.42 inc Del and VAT

Ex-rental is a good idea, I know few places by me to go and look

I've Ordered it!! £370 delivered to my door

looked atthe 2nd hand/ex-rental nothing that took my fancy pricewise, except a few which looked like they had been knocked about a bit, which isn't too clever with CRT's

I've already been outdone though - mate just went a bought a LCD widescreen for his bedroom Some people have too much money!

100 HTZ Tv you will notice no difference from 50HTZ. The eye only works at 37 - 39HTZ.

The only difference you will see is a newer tv. The rest is your imagination.

This unfortunately is comet/currys sales talk

What? no!!!...go and watch a 100hz for half an hour then go and 50hz TV - Then tell me you have'nt got a headache

...you don't notice until you've had a 100hz then forced to watch a 50Hz tv (like my old one in the bedroom - flicker frenzy)

Or to proove my point- your computer monitor is most likely to be set on about 75-80hz refresh...Go and open up "Display Properties" Click the "Settings" tab and then the "Advance" button. Then click the "Monitor" tab and select a refresh of 60Hz or lower in the drop down box and click "Apply"

Now after that..tell me the screen isn't flickering!
