that's true, FM. however, i could go for e and then the whole christmas dinner fandango would pass me by

as it is i think i will aim for somewhere bewteen a and b, have a bit of a lie in, put the turkey in the oven and have a couple of recovery drinks while its cooking. by the time it gets to the more complicated stuff i should be in fine spirits.

Thumbs up

heh... like the plan ProperCharlie Hair o'the dog whilst cooking, getting progressively plastered throughout the meal and ending in a nice state-C by early evening! Hope the outlaws aren't visiting, are they?

that's normally how it goes - champagne at breakfast, couple of eye openers about lunch time, by the time diners on the table be feeling no pain, 9 o'clock - highly merry, 10 o'clock - asleep on the sofa

No outlaws, just an assortment of friends and brothers and sisters, so no need to worry about behaving myself.

I need some alcohol, ever seem the start of 'The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy', where Ford and Arthur have a couple of pints to ease the transition to the Vogon ship, well its like going to my in laws, alcohol ease the transition and to be honest the shouting is very simlar but not as poetic, very nerdy I know but its the only way I know !

Cheers FM - have a good one yourself. Just taken the ham out of trhe pot and it's smellin good

Luke - Ch. Margaux? either it's an inferior vintage or we should be calling you Lord Luke...

I've still got one bottle of Cheval Blanc '85 left (only had 2 bottles to begin with ) but due to the number of people that will be here, and the fact that i am related to most of them, i won't be opening it tomorrow. a few bottles of good Chateauneuf du Pape will wash down the turkey, i think.

according to Parker, Marguax was one of the best wines produced in bordeaux in 1980 (which was not a great vintage). He rates it very well and gives it 88 points.

The Tattinger '95 is a sure-fire winner.

nice clients.
