C'mon then Chris, spill the beans
STI555 - if I were you, do your research on a site such Speed Trap Bible and consider getting yourself some legal representation. PryceWoodrow who advertise on STB offer fixed cost representation.
You may not escape the points or fine, but you might not get the ban - got to be worth a try.

Chris Thanks for the info...
Advice wise, a member of the family sits on the court, suggests I just admit it gracefully, & bend over, just abit worried as up same time as the drink driving fools after christmas.. hope I don't get tared with the same brush when the wooden tops are in harsh mode...

Was in court for 96mph in a 60 on Monday. I got £350 + £35 costs and 6 points. Would have been well happy with a 2-4 week but they seem to be getting wise to it and giving points out instead.
10:30 at night I got caught, copper hiding in a farmers field entrance on a stretch of road with no juctions or houses for 2 miles.
I'm sure all the dealers and peadophiles were happy to know that whilst I was entertaining the law, they could go about their crimes undetected

cheers Mat,
Just abit p***ed off it took so long, copper at the time gave me the impression I would'nt here anything as it really was'nt that fast on that stretch of road, he said courts are too busy processing 120+ etc etc....
Personally 6 cops on a quiet stretch of dual carriageway hiding behind a sheep & goat is not the best use of resources IMO....

It all boils down to appropriate speed, traffic, weather, driver car etc...I generally don't speed in 30/40/60 limits just beetle off to a bypass to have fun, I don't want to put other people at risk either.... but dual carriage, 1+ straight visibility, new tarmac, early in the morning no other road users or junctions, just team truncheon..

Cheers for your kind remarks smiler.
Not trying to justify it at all, trying to ask is it best use of resource at 22:30 hrs when we are so short of police officers in Norfolk ?
Maybe during the day when they can catch many motorists on a strech of road, but you'd be lucky to see 20 cars an hour on the stretch that I got stopped at that time of night.
STI555 - Mine took 2 months to come thru the post, no what you mean.

This is obviously not good news. However don't panic.
The speed you were doing will mean that it will go to court...Get representation.....budget on at least £200 Per Hour for him / her
But, there are a number of things you can do.
To summarise the points below, get as much mitigating information and doco as possible and present it in court and (if you can) offer to pay all the fine on the day - they like this as then then do not have to chase you up and you can plonk it on your Credit card ! - Budget for somewhere between 1 and 4 weeks salary for a fine if you earn over the max at around 40K PA (I think)
1, Letter from work is ideal, you are then very un-likley to get banned.
2, Discuss it with work even if 1 is not an option. I did when I got done for 89 in a 50 and get some useful stuff from them anyway
3, Do you work in any of the 'at risk' industries i.e where consolidations are taking place....I work in IT for an investment back which was going thru V hard times, I DO NOT need my car for work in the general run of things but might need to get to the Docklands ASAP if we ever invoke our DR plans. But, I would find it V difficult to get a job if I was made redundant - Not likley now, but was possible at the time I went to court, they will take it into account.
4, Do you have any kids, does you other half drive, do you have commitments outside work that require you to drive ?
5, Road conditions good ? If so mention it and that you were 'driving with the traffic' - any good solicitor should ask you all of the above Q's so use it as a check list......
I asssume you have a clean sheet at present....
PM if you want me to take you thru in detail or want any more help.....
I got 6 Points and a evry nasty fine.........
Simon.
