Thinking for a while about doing something like this whilst I still have a decent car to do it in.

To be honest not interested in the Gumball as is way too expensive, but Canonball seems a bit cheaper. Have looked at website and next run is to go skiing which I'm not really interested in.

Does anyone know of any other similar events, don't need to be flat out fast as you can events. I know there is the Italian Job every year, but I don't have a mini.

Cheers

I'm not 100% sure on this, but one of the people on here, Harj I think, took part in a recent European version.

I'm meeting one of his mates later for a beer, so I'll ask him if he knows any more about it.

Hi mate,
Thanks for the reply, I think Harj did the Cannonball as he got a mention on the site.

Have had a look into it and the options are:

www.gumball3000.com - £8000, goes into Africa next year

www.cannonball8000.com - run down to Monte Carlo over 3 or 4 days.

www.rally-europe.co.uk- good value at £1950, 7 day event, 4000 miles round pretty much most of Europe

www.thegreatchase.co.uk - 2 week event along the lines of whacky races, looks like a good laugh, but think may need a classic car to enter

I'm thinking of having a go at the Cannonball or possibly Rally Europe. Insurance company are OK with it, only going to charge £26 to put my mate on as an additional driver.

Anyone else know of any other events

Cheers
IanF

Would it be worth someone organising a "ScoobyDash" or similar - open to scooby owners/drivers. I'm sure loads of people from here, SIDC, RB5OC etc.. would be interested if it looked good.

How about "Scoobynet on tour"? Keep it in the UK and travel round everywhere! Include the IOM for some REAL fun and sure you'd get loads of interest...

But that way, most people would onyl join for their local leg - if we went out of the country people would stick with it.
