what do you think these I've had made up.
its a sadel bag for your bike.. with EL/neon on the back to make you Highly Visable!
You can see the flashing EL on the back upto 300' away!!!
also unzip the bottom and it expands to approx doubleits size!!!
Look.. this bit lights up and flashes!
does my bike bag look big in this...
What do you think?
it also will be featured in MBuk and their other Bike mags v soon.

Only problem I can see is that it isn't red. You have to show a static red to the rear. Tis the law.
Anyway, very cool.

no.. its no different to the reflectives on your Reflective VESTS.. there not red either.
and the 3M reflective piping on your paniour (do you spell it like that?) bags.. there not read either! lol
the Red thing applies to the bike light itself.

I've got a similar bike bag on my Cannondale.
Not sure exactly what your flashing EL is????
If it is a light then it has to be red.
If its not a light then its just reflective strip?
How can a reflective strip flash?
Genuinely interested and would consider buying one if:
The price is right,
The quality of construction is better than the quality of your spelling

Salsa-king,
Don't get me wrong, I think this is very cool. However, you are not allowed (by law) to show any lights to your rear (ooer) that are not red. Reflectors are different.
Not that it matters as I've never seen a cyclist pulled for those flashing LEDs rear lamps, which are also illegal as your only form of rear light.
Cheers

Given the flashing red LED tail lights are SO much more noticeable than in static mode, I'd be interested to hear if ANYONE has ever been pulled over by cops for not displaying a static rear light. I'd certainly have a discussion with said cop if he applied letter of the law on this one.....and query which mode (flashing/static) he reckoned was more visible.
Frankly, if I was, I'd point at the 50% of cyclists that have NO rear light. No excuse these days, with LED lights being :
a) cheap (£7)
b) run on same set of batteries all winter if only used normally (1hr per day?)
c) reliable - no blown bulbs!
I know some are paranoid, and have 1 static, and 1 flashing, but I've never bothered. Keep mine flashing at all times.
I've also got 25W of headlight power, and a superbright white LED flashing front lamp.
Great stuff.

As I said, don't get me wrong. I'll have every light under the sun on my bike if I rode on the road after dark. But I ride off road after dark
The point I was getting at was that maybe some bike mags, stockists etc. wouldn't stock it as it doesn't meet the letter of the law (which I think we all agree is bolloxs).
Anyway, great looking product.
Salsa, as Luke asks, can you cut this stuff out and can you get it in big sheets ? Can you sew it ?
The only EL stuff I've seen are the huge panels on some US war planes and those funky EL ribbons you are supoosed to use in computers for case modders.
Cheers

copywrite! something could be done..but it works out expensive for one off, i'd of thought.
Ian
I'll take my chance on the 'law' thing.
A sample has gone off to MBuk.. so I'll see what they have to say.
you can use it on clothes.... theres thin pipe EL wire that can be used or... these.. I've had these done as a sample for me.
Good For
Bikers
Joggers
Walkers
Horse Riding.. you name it.
is this what you were thinking of too?
the bits of EL in the reflective bands flash or you can turn it to 'constant ON'
Visible upto 300' again! Plus has the extra Reflective front and rear so if your batteries run out.. you have the reflectors
theres the same EL on the rear too.. just like the front shown.

Salsa-King,
Also you suggest you involve SingleTrack, i.e. a proper MB magazine. They will actually use it and let you know it performs.
Cheers
