Question

I've just noticed that my furkin cat has been using my spare bed as a toilet, just pi55, no solids. I've hot washed all the linen but the mattress stinks. Anyone got any ideas how to clean the mattress?

P.S. The cat has been banished to outside. It's 8yrs old so should know better!!

Get rid of the mattress. You'll never fully be rid of the smell of ammonia now. Alternatively, ask a dry cleaners to clean it for you.

If the cat is 8 years old, it's in middle --> old age depending on the cat.

Average age of an indoor (house) cat is 14, I believe.

It's a real pain, coz the mattress is only 6mths old and cost quite a bit. Bloody cat is sitting outside my window crying to be let in. I am trying to be tough, but no doubt he'll win in the end!

Been there, done that (well, the cat, not me). Matress has to go I'm afraid, or your house will stink of cat pi55 forever more.

I have a similar problem with my girlfreind - she has damped down several times when mega drunk - I just moved house recently and it was embarrasing carrying the matress between the van & house - it looks like the Turin Shroud

may fork out for a new one, the GF seems to be toilet trianed now, no more waking up at 3am freezing cold hopefully.

Ah nooooo that's so cruel!

My cat seems to go through this peeing and pooing in the corner of a clean room stage when he is ill or someone moves in or out of the house! They are very clever u know!

Don't blame the poor cat but do get rid of the Matress!
