Yep me too.

Apologies for spouting off.

But some people just can't keep their mouth shut (or their fingers still, one of the two!)!

Not at all. Been off ill yesterday & today, so played the FTSE a bit. Made £1100 between 9am and 11am yesterday, but stupidly managed to lose it all by 4pm
More or less done the same thing again today - DOH!

You need to learn to quit while you are ahead How much (roughly) do you think you are 'up' since you started all this?? Feel free to email the answer or not to answer at all

I do need to learn to quit while ahead. It is a gamblers syndrome I am sure.
ie, for the day, I was well up, so the risks went up. ie, potentially I was looking at 5-10k gains for the day IF it'd come off - instead I ended up at same position I started day with.

In some ways, I see that as an ok risk. ie, not up on day, but not down either, but had a chance to make £5k. Can't be bad.

I agree with that line of thinking! Money IS NOT mine until I bank it into MY account and regard it as available. Therefore if I have £1k of clear profit and a good chance to turn that into a large amount then by all means I'll go for it. I lost £100 of other peoples money in one night at poker. It didn't bother me that much at all. The next two days I lost £100 of my own money....now that did p!ss me off

Conversely, given I was 300% up on the day, I should have maintained my slow steady growth (100% per hour - HAHA!) and been happy with the gain.

ie, £1k per day, is better than £0 per with chance of £5k.

I put a £120 max exposure bet on for you on the FTSE to fall at 1420hrs. At 1429hrs, it was £164.70.

That's £44.70 profit in 9 minutes on your money.

Sadly, even though it was your "bet", it was my dosh, so I keep the proceeds

At the same time, I put a £10/point bet on the FTSE to fall at 1420 hours....

It moved 18 pts, so made £180 for myself (edited to add that this is NOT 18pts movement in the FTSE, but 18 %-age points on the binary bet).

So, that was £224 in 9 mins. More than your average hooker gets hoovering up.

You learn to have a "feeling" for what may happen. ie, if we are at the high for the day, fair chance we MAY go down, but often market contradicts and rises further.

It's all about managing risk versus gain etc. ie, small risk, but large gain. Large risk, but small gain etc.

I could give you some lessons, but my hourly rate would be beyond you
If you could arrange those 5 hookers, maybe I'll think about it.....
