Petrol in diesel engine
#3
Drain tank, flush fuel system with diesel refill and your away. Your local dealer will probably charge about £80 to do it.
It's easier to deal with than putting diesel in your petrol car, thats a friggen nightmare to sort out.

Too much petrol in a diesel engine can cause damge to the seals within the pump, and injector damage (in other words expensive). So make sure that the tank is filled right up to the brim with diesel, and don't go thrashing it.
Unless you know a local garage who has a propper pump to drain it. It's a simple job of just hooking it up and leaving it to it. Replace the filter fill and with fresh diesel and away you go.
It's your choice in the end of the day...if its a banger then I wouldn't bother too much. But if it's a modern diesel engine and - I wouldn't risk it (IMO of course )
It's the absent minded people that are the reason why my nissan (petrol) runs on a mix of petrol and diesel every now and again
(which is a banger so I don't really care if it melts a piston )
