Taking my daughter to Cardiff in a couple of weeks for uni tour. Want to stay over so anyone know of a reasonable hotel in uni area please. Contact phone number or web address would help. PS. Anyone study at Cardiff? Thanks, David

David, I studied in Cardiff and very happy to field any questions. As to hotels, the Big Blue is ok for something cheap and cheerful - not sure of web address.
Cheers,

travel lodge on st marys street is as youd expect from a travel lodge- and its right in the centre
marriot is nice...not sure of price tho. Chip knows his stuff- hes one of those strange welsh local people
If you there on a saturday nite pop into liquid niteclub (with your daughter )- im the dj there on saturdays....(only joking mate
Cardiff is a top notch place for students, many many many happy times there.
IMHO the best place for students in the uk

I would recommend the Marriott or the Hilton both are very central. If you are going by car the Marriott has it's own car park but the Hilton does not. Dury's is OK, only has a small car park but there is an NCP opposite . For a touch of luxury try St David's at Cardiff Bay it is the best hotel I have stayed at in the UK.

Thanks a lot guys. I did some research on the 'net and the Hilton/Marriott type are circa £80 per night. Since we would want 2 singles then that would mean £200 plus what with supper and my bar bill!! Encouraging to hear good reports about the uni itself. My gal 'Tor is hoping to read Psychology (but AAB required). PS. Mossman - may well take you up on your offer - what did you study? David
