Have I missed some earlier post about this or is this a mystery to everyone else too? Apparently they are making an Aliens Vs Predator movie, a version of the game.

"Paul Anderson, the man behind the game-based film Resident Evil, will write and direct a film based on the popular Aliens vs. Predator sci-fi action games for 20th Century Fox, according to a report on Variety. The film will be developed by the producers of the Aliens and Predator film series. The story will follow a human scientist who hatches alien eggs on a distant planet in order to attract predators. "

And:

"Since this movie is set in the present day, and not in some far flung future, Sigourney Weaver's character of Ripley will not be included, so she won't be starring in this particular 'Alien' movie. In fact, no characters from any of the previous films are expected to return, so that means no Danny Glover or Arnold Schwarzenegger cameos either. There are rumors that Paul W.S. Anderson may have written the character of 'Lex' for his girlfriend (and his Resident Evil star) Milla Jovovich. Jovovich would have a very tight schedule fitting this movie in between Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Ultraviolet, especially considering she is the lead in both of those films, so it is likely she will not end up taking that role after all. (9/29/03) Lance Henricksen, who played the artificial beings called Bishop in Aliens and Alien 3 has signed on to play the lead character (and villain). Might his billionaire industrialist character of the 21st century from this movie actually turn out to be the basis for the androids he played in the earlier films (which were set farther in the future)?"


Anything that can cross predator 1 and aliens 2 would make my day. Apparently its due for release in August next year

I though Milla Jovovich was married to Luc (5th Element) Besson?

oh well - also been rumours that Alien 5 will be Written by James Cameron and Directed by Ridley Scott - to get a bit of respectability back into the franchise after "Resurrection"

Main concern over AVP is the amount of effort that seems to be going into getting it a PG13 rating. If this is so it will be pants, much like Robocop3. A film like this should be a full on 18, at worst a 15. I hope it will be a good sci-fi movie as the genre is crying out for rescue.

From reading the various AVP books I would say the Predators most definetly have the upper hand.

Pity they couldnt get Cameron or Scott aboard as then it would have been decent for sure. Fingers crossed they do a good job and as the originals are classics and I still love AVP2 on the PC (they have the pulse rifle sound to a t).

Scott did Alien and Cameron Aliens. 3 and Resurrection by some unkowns IIRC.
