Yup, you are responsible for filing of all statutory documents, etc, with companies house and maintenance of the company's statutory books and records (memo and articles, minutes of meetings, resolutions passed, share register, etc, but NOT accounting records, etc)
Whilst you would be an "officer" of the company, you would not as secretary be involved in the formation or management of the company like a director would.
If you are simply the secretary you are absolved of any liablity in event of wrongful/fraudulent trading, etc, etc...
