just been watching starwars and got thinking.
how do people learn to do those amazing flips and mid air antics?

He was born in Glasgow but I think he has spent most of his life down sarf. IIRC he was working at a supermarket and doing some martial art that does a lot of jumping and spinning. He was picked to do Darth Maul's martial art stunts and they liked him so much he got to act the entire part (albeit small speaking wise).
He also played Toad in X-men according to IMDB.

Isn't his name Ray Parks, or something similar?
The footage of him practising on the extras section of the Phantom Menace DVD is awesome, I must admit I wasn't aware wires were involved.

Nearly all the Jedi extras in the last film were from a Karate club that had been banned from all comps for being to violent, or so I read.

Do a search on the web for a site called "multi level moves" the guy on that is phenomenal! he does stuff you wouldn't have thought possible, especially as most of his stuff is out on the street!
