we have a bugeye GX. love it.
but my dad thinks its a WRX and hammers it after BMW drivers thinking hes going to "beat that flash git who cut me up".
damn 53yr olds!
how do i stop our GX engine ending up all over the m1 ?

Install a dry ice machine behind the dash, link it to the rev counter, and every time he hits 6000rpm it will be triggered. For a short burst of course 
just enough for him to think he has blown the ****** up!
That should be enough to slow anyone down.
