TV License: fee goes up (again!!!)

not wanting to start a raging debate
but again the TV License fee has gone up, it's now at £121 for a colour TV...
I think the government knows this tax is utter crap and is milking it for all it's worth before it eventually gets scrapped.
What a load of pants... £121 - for what exactly, the same old crap as before. The beeb puts out some good stuff occasionally, but most of the schedule is filled with naff repeats...

Personally I don't really GAS about BBC TV broadcasts, as I hardly ever watch it in any case. If they started having adverts in the middle of East Enders, it wouldn't bother me. However, I would pay, say, £75.00 a year for a radio licence. I can't stand commercial radio - for some reason radio commercials are 10x as irritating as TV ads.

I'd like to see how much of each day's broadcasting by the BBC is wasted by those feckin adverts for Freeview, and the stupid annoying gap fillers, with blokes in wheelchairs, tap-dancers, etc.
The Beeb seem to have more "adverts" on nowadays than independant channels. If the extra money meant that Claire Goose got more air time, then I'd have no problem with it though...

the annoying thing is that it doesn't really bear any relevance to TV - it all ends up in the same coffers, and you can bet the BBC won't be getting any of the rise. TV license is just another way of taxing us with nice name that is somehow supposed to justify it [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

i dont get any increase on my wages, i have to pay a ****ty tv liscence n i dont even watch tv, only reason i have one is to watch films i have bought and play my xbox on. they should have tv's that dont receive so u dont have to pay it.

there called monitors!!!!
i have one soley for my ps2 have had it for about 13yrs now..
far better picture than the tv and swmbo gets to watch the tv uninterupted all night
