Births, deaths and marriage register - can I view it?

As I dont want to pay £25 / £50 for a copy of my marriage (from hell) certificate. All I need to know is whether it was in the "County Court" or in the "Principal Registry" and the Ref No - oh and the date it took place!!!

why not go back to the church/ registryoffice where you got hitched,,, they can look through the register and give you the cert No. for a fee

Done that now - £7 for a copy so hopefully the whole divorce thing will cost less than £100
