Matrix Revolutions :::SPOILERS:::
#1
Saw this last night.
Near the end of the film, after Neo has beaten Agent Smith in that last gasp of the fight, just before Smith explodes, for a moment there Smith grimaces and looks just like ...
Graham Norton ...
Also, in Zion, the fighting robots at rest look like Mr Gumby from Monty Python.
Told you there were spoilers.
Overall, good action film with top effects (and a clunking script) but don't think I'll be buying it on DVD and watching it for years to come, unlike the first Matrix. Will probably buy Reloaded just for the freeway chase scene (once the price comes down).

Definately not going to be the next Star Wars or Godfather Trilogy but still very good films when ranked alongside most of the unimaginative crap that has come out over the last year or two - special effects in Revolutions were some of the best ever I think - Reloaded was visually stunning but some of it looked cartoony from the heavy handed computer generated stuff. Agree that the first was the best script by some way.

I was a bit confused at the end. What was the significance of the young girl? And whats the deal with the French bloke, and.... What was the deal with the Oracle and the Architect at the end?
Lot of biblical symbolism too.
Left a good gap for a 4th episode I thought...

Star Wars is sh1te end of, just like the matrix it's fame was based on the first one and after that its just a rubbish but because the first was good everyone goes to see the others.

because they are machines and dont do Human bluffing.
Smith (software) would have taken over the machines.
All would have been done in.
So the machines worked with Neo to get smith.
Humans survive.
Machines survive.
I liked the film. They should do a mechwarriors movie

trying to answer... from what i took from it..
french bloke shows how certain programs have powers to influence their existance. not conforming - like Smith but without the drive for Neo's death.
Oracle and Architect mimics the Machine and Human relationship.
Architect was to do the things he does. He serves the machines. The Oracle shows the human side of hope and belief. The ending shows how there is never a real end - there is continual relationships between different sides. A balance of power.
Young girl - shows a new set of eyes looking on the matrix. She is quite a powerful program - but one that is interested in only good things - the sun for Neo for example. Like frenchie, but not, if u see what i mean. (i think)
Im just guessing here. It all changes on how u think on it.

The machines stopped cos the Architect made them stop. Neo went to him saying he would stop Smith as he [smith] was getting too powerful as he had left the matrix and gone into the [real] world. He bargained an end to the war if he took out smith.
Then you have the architect who isnt human after his "you have my word, can I trust that, pff Im not a human" spiel with the Oracle. So hes a program just like the oracle, albeit a more powerful one.
Hmm I think I am just rambling here....
Simon.

Read some of the threads here to help you understand parts of the film
The point of the film is not to give you lots of neat answers and a happy ending but to make you think and question.......

Basically the matrix continues...
Neo was the 6th "One" and Smith was his opposite. The two cancelled each other out.

Don't hate it because it makes you think...unless you wanted the blue pill. That's the point.

LOL, same guy went on to write:
This is why these movies are getting panned--many viewers but not a lot of brain cells working.
Synapse activate. Nope nothing.Hmmm, this movie sucks.
If they only issued an IQ test before the movie for admittance.
I really like this guys take on the movie - spot on IMHO

Revolution left me with one big question......
How the hell can they make such a crappy film with $300mill?
It's no wonder they didn't preview it to the press. Saying that it's make sweet fa difference, people would still want to see it.
All this baloney that people come out with about thinking - have you thought that "them" saying you need to think, you've missed the point etc - it's just an easy way to cover up a poor script and lack of knowledge.......All seems very Mycroft

I disagree Craig. Most films these days make me sit and go, 'oh ah', 'wow' at the effects and the funny lines, etc, etc but I forget them as soon as I leave the cinema. I watched the matrix on Sat night and I'm still thinking about it a lot today! I've figured a lot of the film out now and its really amazing when you start to realise what is all about. I believe its a work of art that only people with a certain inquisitive personality will truely apprecaite. I am one such person and always have been but I fully respect that others are not and to these people its just another big budget blow up everything film.

As Agent Smith, the virus, is becoming more powerful, Neo’s programming is made more powerful by the machines as well. You would not want Neo to be more powerful until it is necessary. Some have stated that Neo can be reprogrammed/ upgraded if something is inserted into his mouth or his mouth is touched through kissing for example: Notice all these cases where Neo is upgraded by what Neo perceives as an item going into his mouth or by a kiss. [/quote]
Morpheus gives Neo the red pill and Neo eats it..
The Oracle gives Neo cookies.
Oracle [Matrix 1]: "One of you is going to die. Which one will be up to you...Here, take a cookie. I promise, by the time you're done eating it, you'll feel right as rain."
Marginal note: In a web chat the Wachowskis told:
Wachowski brothers: "There was a piece cut out of the movie that explained the significance [of Neo eating the cookie] more. It's hard to explain."
Trinity gives him a kiss (and he raises from the dead and becomes the 'One')
Since Trinity is a cyborg too, she might be able to resurrect “dead” programs by inserting new code:
The Oracle gives him a candy.
However we don't see him eating it: Perhaps Neo refused the upgrade this time, the candy, and thus could not beat Agent Smith in the normal way.
Persephone kisses him.
In the background you see a green waterfall. Maybe that is a symbol for code being transferred (like the green 'digital rain' Matrix code).
The Oracle inspects Neo's mouth (Matrix 1)
Oracle: "Well, I better have a look at you. Open your mouth, say 'Aaah'."
Neo: "Aaah"
Neo (to Oracle): "Why are you here?"
Oracle: "Same reason. I love candy."
In other words: she enjoys upgrades, becoming more powerful.
Remember also where Neo shows up and the Oracle says, “I wanted to have the cookies ready for you.”
Marginal note #1: The woman in the Merovingian's castle was also 'reprogrammed' thru her mouth (by the Erovingian's cake software, a 'quickie cookie' and a 'tart tart' and 'interesting...that was quickier than the others', so to speak)

Sticky - Congratulations. thats part of the appeal. You have to think about the films. The more I watch, the more I pick up on and ask questions about them. Myself and a M8 have spent ages theorising and discussing them.
Corking films.

I disagree. They are not 'profound' films, they do appeal to a ceertain type of person though as there are lots of geeky details and twists that only programmers, pedants and nerds can get excited about...there is nothing, however, deep and meaningful in it, though I'll admit there are some clever details.
The first film was alot of fun for the average movie-goer, cutting edge special effects and eye candy. The second had a couple of amazing set pieces, which unfortunately went on too long. The third was just milking the franchise. Unisnspired and unneeded..it could have been wrapped up in 10 mins at the end of the second one.
